This one-of-a-kind antique Persian Ferahan carpet creates an unforgettable impact with its unmatched magical design and prodigious rainbow of color. The interplay of the strawberry, apricot and pale coral blossoms is endlessly fascinating, as are the varying horizontal waves of rare apple and celadon greens that fill the foliage. Plum hues, stemming from Tyrian purple (the rareness and most costly dye seen in antique rugs) can be seen throughout. Its Mille Fleur ("Thousand Flower") design is at once overflowing with innovative moments of inspiration. Motifs move from spacious at the bottom to more condensed at the top, dispelling any possibility of a sense of repetition.
