Sometimes we get caught between two worlds, or philosophies, or preferences. This Heriz Serapi is a case in point. Katryn and I generally prefer to buy and sell pieces that are in excellent condition, but when something comes along that has that spark....well, you know. So in this case, charisma conquers all. As I'm writing this, I'm soaking its magic in. It has the basic premise of most Heriz rugs: a big medallion with palmettes and corner spandrels. But every single knot means something on this one. Every color, every motif, has its own whimsical expression.
