FARAHAN 170 years old With a glowing jewel-toned palette set against deepest indigo that enriches the medallion-on-an-unadorned-field format, this small, consummately crafted piece in the renowned Ferahan [FARAHAN] style offers an abundance of decorative possibilities. Its ornate yet understated botanical program features a magnetic twin-pendant medallion floating majestically on an expanse of natural undyed, softly variegated ivory sheep’s wool. A generous use of prized teal greens plays off the signature Ferahan russet tone, which is amplified by skillfully wrought auburn and salmon accents. Mid-19th century Ferahan rugs in this versatile small size are incredibly few and far between, especially in the excellent quality this piece offers.
