Masterfully contrasting ornate imagery with potent color, the virtuoso use of abrash provides a thrilling foundation, adding rhythmic, continually shifting waves of indigo, cobalt and denim blue that infuse this small rug with great visual movement and depth.

The resplendent oval, wreath-like medallion appears to levitate within an apricot to caramel halo, inviting the surrounding botanical motifs to radiate toward it. High-level antique Ferahan Sarouks, such as this little gem, are renowned for luminous wool, and richly toned, silhouetted pattern language, attributes that are captured here to perfection.
