About Hormozgan Province

Hormozgan province is in the south of the country. Its provincial capital is Bandar Abbas. The province has eleven major cities, namely: Bandar Abbas, Bandar Lengeh, Hajiabbad, Minab, Qeshm, Jask, Bastak, Bandar Khamir, Parsian, Rudan, and Abumusa. The province is primarily mountainous, consisting of the southern tip of the Zagros Range. The province experiences a very hot and humid climate in summers. There is very little precipitation year round.

Bandar Abbas is a port city and capital of Hormozgan Province on the southern coast of Iran, on the Persian Gulf. The city occupies a strategic position on the narrow Strait of Hormuz.
