About Historic Site of Shadiyakh

Historic Site of Shadiyakh is one of the neighborhoods of the old city of Nishapur that has become residential since early 3rd century A.H. and it has been of special importance until 669 A.H. when an earthquake devastated this site. This site is called Shadiyakh after a palace in this region that has been one of the royal neighborhoods of Nishapur. Some constructions including the public hall, interior part and winery, blacksmithing, pottery and glass making workshops have been recognized from explorations. In addition, assorted pottery and glassware as well as plaster works have been explored from excavations. Some of these explorations are exhibited in Shadiyakh Museum located near this site. Historic Site of Shadiyakh has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
