About Shokat Abad Garden

Shokat Abad Garden belongs to Qajar Era and it is located in a village of the same name, 5 kilometers to the east of Birjand. The beautiful mansion in the middle of the garden shows the architects skillfulness in Qajar Era. This mansion has various parts each of which has its own special adornments. Of these parts is the springhouse with its special architectural and decorative features. Of other spaces encompassing this mansion is the cortile, which has been used by the governor and his family. This section, which is located on the southernmost part of the mansion, is very similar to residential houses located in the old texture of Birjand in terms of architecture and plan. A wide area of the garden is covered with assorted fruit and decorative trees. Shokat Abad Garden has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
