About Besh Qardash
Besh Qardash is located 7 kilometers from Bojnourd on the way of Bojnourd to Esfarayen. In Turkish language, Besh Qardash means five brothers and this place was named after a historic story according to which in ancient times there were five brothers living in Bojnourd and they were prosecuted for opposing the tyranny of the ruler. They escaped together and agents followed them to this location. They prayed God for help and then five holes were formed on the rocks and these five brothers hid there. Later, five springs flowed form these holes. Some years ago, there were five springs there full of water. Before Islam, in Ashkanid and Sasanid Eras there has been a temple here for Zoroastrian priests and because of permanent residence of the magi there, this place became known as Chaharmoghan (Four Magi) and the water of these springs was called Chahrmoghan or Charmoghan and it is also known as this name today. On the left side of spring, there is a historic place constructed to the order of Naseruddin Shah Qajar and it has remained to now.
