About Tomb of Seyyed Shamsuddin

Tomb of Seyyed Shamsuddin is the remains of a building complex belonging to 8th century AH and it is located in Char-Menar neighborhood of Yazd. The founder of this tomb is Seyyed Shamsuddin the son of Seyyed Ruknuddin. Following his father, Seyyed Shamsuddin founded a school, bazaar, baths, mosque and monastery outside Yazd in those days. Tombs of Seyyed Shamsuddin and his father Seyyed Ruknuddin are located under the dome of the school founded by Seyyed Shamsuddin. In later centuries, only the dome remained from this school and it was turned into a tomb. Now, this tomb is a famous and revered shrine in Yazd. This tomb is regarded as one of architectural masterpieces of Yazd in terms of its decorations. It has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
