About Tomb of Absh Khatun

Tomb of Absh Khatun, the last Atabak of Fars Atabakan, is located in Shiraz. Absh Khatun is the only female governor of Shiraz. When Hulagu Khan, the Mongol ruler married her to his son, Monko Teymoor, her governance and the Salghurids' terminated in Fars and this land was officially annexed to the Ilkhanate. The return of Absh Khatun and her daughter to Fars was not regarded as the continuation of Atabakan governance. Absh Khatun passed away in 685 A.H. because of illness. She was buried in Charandab, Tabriz. However, after a while, her daughter moved her body to Shiraz and buried her in Absh Caravansary.
