About Khan Bathhouse

Khan Bathhouse belongs to Qajar Era and it is located in the old part of Sanandaj, in the north side of Sanadaj Bazaar. The architecture of this bathhouse is to the style of Iranian bathhouses including various sections like propylaeum, a porch, cold bath, hot tub, stokehold and an extra cistern. The ceiling of all spaces of this bathhouse is a combination of arch and dome, which have been very effective in its strength and stability. Most of the materials used to make Khan Bathhouse include rocks, bricks, lime and water mortar. Of characteristics of Khan Bathhouse are elaborate and elegant lime adornments with various plans and seven-color tiles with assorted themes.
