About Akhangan Tower

Akhangan Tower is located near a village of the same name, 22 kilometers to the north of Mashhad. This brick building is a tomb tower to the height of 17 meters located on an octagonal platform and its outer facade is adorned with eight extra half-columns in addition to having a circular shape. On the peak of Akhangan Tower, there is a conical dome adorned with azure and turquoise tiles. The architectural style of this construction is attributed to Timurid Era and ninth century A.H. Akhangan Tower has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
