About Helleh Protected Area

Helleh Protected Area is located on the coastline of the Persian Gulf, 10 kilometers on the northeast of Bushehr. The area of Helleh Protected Area is 42,600 hectares half of which is covered by the Helleh Wetland. The vegetation of this area includes halophytes, forage plants, tamarisk, walnut tree, bryophyllum as well as wetland plants like cyperus alternifolius and reeds. The wildlife of Helleh Protected Area includes species like wolf, jackal, fox, boar and rabbit. In addition, birds like francolinus, sandgrouse, columbiformes, rock dove, lark, seriema, gray heron, crane, greylag goose, flamingo, pelikan, Dalmatian pelican, bittern, northern shoveler, bustard, and various species of hawks.
