About Museums of Astan Quds Razavi

Museums of Astan Quds Razavi is one of the great complexes of museums in Iran that the historic constructions of which shows 6 centuries of Islamic era architecture and its historic objects represent assorted arts and crafts made during last ten centuries. Currently, Museums of Astan Quds Razavi are based in four buildings and the exhibited objects in these museums include historic works of Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and the heritage of Astan Quds Razavi as well as endowed and donated objects and objects purchased to complete the collections. Three buildings of the museum are located in Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS), in Kowsar Courtyard and each one is identified via the objects it keeps in it. Objects exhibited in the central building include the Treasure of Razavi Shrine, the Treasure of Stamps and Banknotes, the Treasure of Astronomy and Clocks, Cold Weapons and Firearms, the Treasure of Utensils, Treasures of Visual Arts, Shellfish and Sea Snails, Coin and Medallions. Objects exhibited in the building of the Museum of Quran and exquisite items include the Treasure of Quran and Exquisite Items, the treasure of objects donated by the Leader of Iran, objects donated by Master Farshchian, as well as muraqqa and writing tools. In the building of the Museum of Carpets, a precious collection of Astan Quds Razavi's carpets is exhibited in three floors. The Museum of Anthropology of Astan Quds Razavi is also located at Mahdi Gholi Beyk Bathhouse, in the west side of Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
