About Amir Dam

Amir Dam which is used as a bridge too, is located near Amir Village 43 kilometers from Shiraz. This dam is constructed on the Kor River at the time of Amir Azdod al-Dowleh Deylami. Its length and width are 120 m and 5 m with 13 springs that water flows from their spillway. In addition, Amir Dam consists of a regulating stream behind it called Gav-Shir with an opening equipped. Amir Dam is used to control the flow of water, to irrigate the vast plain of Karbal Olya, to move the mills in area and to connect two sides of the Kor River. Currently, water for 24 villages on the east bank of the Kor River is supplied with the help of Amir Dam.
