About Moayedi Icehouse

Moayedi Icehouse belongs to late Safavid Era and it is located on Aboo Hamed Street, Kerman. It is called Moayedi Icehouse since Moayedi Qanat supplied the water of this icehouse. In the past, icehouses have been used to keep ice for summer days. Various parts of an icehouse include a reservoir, walls, pool and ice pit. The reservoir of Moayedi Icehouse is circular with an oval dome on it. This icehouse has a wall to the height of 12 meters. Materials used in the construction of Moayedi Icehouse include adobe and mud mortar. Moayedi Icehouse has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
