Shah Abbasi Caravanserai belongs to Safavid Period and it is located in southeast of Towhid Square in Karaj. Its area is 3000 m² and the area of the middle courtyard is 900 m². Stone, brick, wood and thatch are the main materials used in its construction. There are 21 chambers with porch around the middle courtyard of this caravanserai where travelers rest and there are five docks to store goods. Shah Abbasi Caravanserai is the most valuable monument of Safavid Era that is located on the Silk Road. Shah Abbasi Caravanserai has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
