An early Bakhtiar Garden Carpet of ‘Tree’ or ‘Forest’ variety, with the most sensational natural dyes. This is a variation of the Bīd Majnūn style, executed with conviction and panache. The XXL size suggests it was woven in a Khan’s private workshop. It has an all wool foundation - yes, a startling thing - denoting a XIX century origin (unlike almost all Bakhtiari rugs). The deep saturation of the natural dyes confirms this.
