About Alavian Dome

Alavian Dome is located in chahar bagh alavian, near Imamzadeh Abdullah in Hamadan. This monument is one of the masterpieces of post-Islam architecture and moulding in Hamadan. This dome is one of the monuments belonging to late Seljukid Period in 6th century AD, which was first constructed as a mosque by Alavid family. However, in later periods, it changed into the tomb of Alavid family by building a cellar in its basement. It was named as Alavian Dome since first it had a dome, but by the passage of time, the dome collapsed. In addition, with regard to the interest of people into Sadat and friends of Imam Ali (PBUH), and two members of Alavid family being buried in this building, this dome was called Alavian Dome. Alavian Dome has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
