Exclusive: a signed royal Qajar with Millefleurs (Haj Khanomi) design. This quality was made for the Qajar kings in the 1800s.
Signed by the legendary Grand Master Ostad Asghar, so renowned he didn’t have to mention his full name, in his personal atelier in Tehran. Back then, with a small population, the only workshops were those catering to the royal dynasty and surrounding aristocracy.
A quite delectable antique Heriz rug in softly glowing natural colors. The wool is pearly and it handles like a blanket. If you've been on the Heriz hunt, you know pieces like this are hard to find. Size is 7'8"x11'4". Condition isn't perfect, but with this design and these colors does it matter? Age circa 1900-1910. Enjoy. SOLD
And now for something completely different! A perfectly proportioned miniature antique Heriz rug. Even has the coveted blue corner spandrels. It's so cool and unusual!! Size is 3'3"x5'9". SOLD
Collector’s Corner: A Most Exclusive Part-Silk Antique Kashkuli Qashqai Millefleurs Carpet

As good as it gets. 19th century Heriz area charm with rocking natural dyes and elegant balance in its drawing and spacing. You won't go wrong with this.
410 x 295
Circa 1880
A rather beautiful antique Kashan - quite appealing & attractive, while also being a rare instance of the transitional period linking the Mohtasham (1850-1900) and Dabir (1920-1940) schools.
The layout and arrangement are quite Dabir esque in formality and elegance. However, zoom in and you’ll see that the flowers are drawn in the archaic 19th century Mohtasham style and coloured accordingly. The colour palette is more varied than later Dabir types for sure.
Old school Persian dealers call this uncommon type Ateshoglu while Arab dealers (the old Baghdad bazar especially) refer to it as Ali Akbari. Meanwhile, out west it’s simply another Kashan .. what’s in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
Lustrous Kork wool in full pile.

This is insane. The levels of genius needed to design & weave this 100 year old Kashan are absolutely incredible. Every time I look at a small corner I get lost in wondrous details and breathtaking motifs laid out in surreally attractive combinations. And the colors—classic Kashan natural dyes but here they seem to glimmer and glow insanely.

This superlative large antique room-size Oriental carpet exemplifies the lofty standards of the Hadji Jallili (Haji Jalili) Tabriz rug style, presenting an astonishing level of #craftsmanship and refinement of design. Abandoning the muted earth-tone palette that defines this style, this Persian court carpet offers a deeply saturated naturally dyed persimmon field, which is sparsely adorned to accentuate its splendor and tonal variation. At its center, a luminous sunburst medallion softly radiates, augmented by glowing golden and sand hues. Supremely sophisticated cornerpieces reprise the medallion's exquisitely detailed artistry and transition expertly into a series of extraordinarily ornate borders. ⠀

10' 10" x 14' 4" - 3rd Quarter, 19th Century.
This delicately detailed antique Tabriz rug presents one of the oldest Persian floral carpet designs from the 16th century Safavid period. On an abrashed (purposely color shaded) field, a life-like trellis of lush blossoms, including a detailed pomegranate motif, is vibrantly expressed in sublime, glowing hues and contained by an ornate willow tree border.⠀
Featured Antique Rug: Tabriz, Northwest Persian 4' 6" x 6' 0" - 3rd Quarter, 19th Century
The finest antique Persian carpets that emulate the style and colors of the master rug weaver, Hadji Jallili (Haji Jalili), are widely sought after, especially for their earthy color palette, superb craftsmanship and excellent condition reminiscent of the older Court style. With a distinctively organic character, the exquisitely sculpted botanicals are remarkably varied throughout the field much like the layout of a #lush garden. The singular blossom medallion with each of its individual ivory petals holding a diminutive flourishing tree reveals a mature designer. Its distinctive palette of #warm earth tones, including exotic shades of olive green and moss add to the verdant ambiance created. Preserved in excellent condition, the #elegance and grace of this antique Persian carpet will be enjoyed for many years to come. ⠀

Antique circa 1900 Northwest Persian Serapi Ahar Rug 4' 9" x 6' 2"⠀
The antique Serapi rugs woven in the village of Ahar take on a somewhat less angular expression of this style's trademark expansive center medallion and broad corner spandral design. This highly successful rendition features a prominent shield medallion that is softened by fluted edges. Overscale field motifs consist primarily of realistically drawn orchids in pomegranate, peach and apple green that serve to advance the rug’s sense of a #lush garden in full blossom. Seldom is an Ahar Serapi found in the small 5x6 dimension. This representative also boasts a particularly rugged construction and heavy pile, which will make it a highly practical choice for virtually anywhere in the home.⠀

Antique Circa 1910 Decorative Northwest Persian Heriz Rug 9' 8" x 11' 3" -⠀
⠀
This alluring, over century-old Persian Heriz is suffused with an imaginative drawing style that cannot be found in younger rugs of this type, and harkens to 19th century carpets with its more luminous color palette. The captivating central medallion is multi-layered with a spirited clarity. Its extremely unusual, elemental pendants further enhance the fascination elicited by this unique piece. Its artistry is further elevated by the masterfully delicate color shifts, known as abrash, that add great visual depth. This abrash is used with particular enthusiasm in the stunning main border that transitions from indigo to varying shades of teal and celadon. An unusually spacious madder red field provides a fitting canvas for the ebullient, stylized botanical renderings. Happily, this rug is as durable as it is exuberantly elegant.⠀

Serapi is a trade name used to refer to the very best Heriz carpets of a certain grade that share vital features. We can see them all here including the extra fine weave with crispness of design, the absence of dark colors and the booming cheer of the dye materials, the focus on ivory and light greens and blues, the restrained drawing with opens spaces and relaxed motifs.
Size 394 x 280
Age 1870
Please meet one of the finest and awesomest rugs in my entire collection! This is truly the stuff of (crazy) dreams.
Leaning into pre-Islamic myth and legend, we see the primordial magical VaqVaq tree with numerous talking heads of both demons and animals growing out of it. It is a complex work of remarkable symmetry in the way the tree is reflected across the central axis. The border is a sumptuous creation in its own right. Of Mishan weave, this is as fine a Malayer as you will touch.

A fascinating antique Bijar Northwest Persian rug 5' 0" x 7' 8" - Circa 1875.⠀
This breathtakingly spacious Bijar is particularly unique for its rare peacock blue main border and burnished gold corner spandrals. The very dark midnight blue medallion adds an exciting contrast to the palette of mid-toned hues. The extremely precise patterns are delightfully combined with a free-spirited drawing style and revels in the beauty of asymmetries. The masterful use of abrash throughout the composition greatly adds to a sense of depth and reflects the inevitable changes in life.⠀

A lovely antique West Central Persian Ferahan Rug 4' 6" x 6' 5" - Circa 1850. (High-Collectible) The densely designed patterning of this mesmerizing mid-19th century Persian rug is consummately executed, a highly collectible, rare example of this renowned Ferahan style. Inimitably crafted revealing an unfathomable attention to detail, the composition is entirely devoted to an inconceivably petite point pattern. Here a repeating "Herati" latticework of minuscule blossoms and curling leaves create a sublime sense of visual movement and depth. A surprisingly slender naturally dyed celadon border quietly frames the composition and gives deference to the virtuosity that lies within it. Stunning on the wall, this greater than 150-year-old Oriental carpet remains very well preserved and could also be greatly enjoyed on the floor.
